Charity of the Year 2013: Mind - Wellingborough
Hardly anyone expects to go through life without experiencing physical problems, from colds to serious illnesses, and in the same way almost everyone faces challenges to their mental well being. These can range from short periods of stress caused by life events to longer lasting conditions.
For 1 in 4 people these challenges can prevent them from living their lives to the full. Mind, Wellingborough works to promote and enhance mental wellbeing and support people in Wellingborough and the surrounding area who are concerned about their mental health. They seek to empower people to lead a full life as part of their local community.
Charity of the Year 2012: Lakelands Hospice
Lakelands Hospice is an independent charity committed to delivering the best possible practice and development of specialist palliative care for people with cancer, heart failure and other life-limiting illnesses. We honour people's right to dignity and respect during all stages of their illness, by improving the quality of life of all hospice attendees and their families. Lakelands Hospice at Home service aims to deliver overnight skilled nursing care for patients during their last two weeks of life.
On Thursday 11th October, WDAC will be presenting a cheque for £650 for the Lakelands Hospice charity to Paul Marlow.
Lakeland Hospice were very thankful of our fundraising and sent us a letter to show their appreciation.
