Ridgeway Trail-Blaze: Tring to Ashbury Hill, 13^th August 2011

I started running Saturday morning (13 AUG) and hoped to get 30-40 miles as a good training run for the TransAlpine race over the Alps in 3 weeks. Ended up making it all the way to Ashbury Hill "99km" first one right? Went off the trail a few times, continued about 6-7 hours in the dark, my Garmin battery died at 67.1 miles before the last CP so I ended up doing 110km for the day. Had to stop around 3:30 or 4am after feet blistered to point of unable to go on, but legs and body wanted the Black Extreme so bad! Ashbury Hill is still only a red band? Did this solo, unsupported and without a crew. Furthest ever run in my life. Am still on a high!

All reached the Severe level checkpoint on their respective trails and so of course earn themselves the red TB wristband!
