Training Schedules

All sessions will start promptly at 6.30pm, Please remember to sign the register on arrival

Tuesday sessions will generally consist of a longer steady run
Thursday sessions will generally consist of a quality / speed / strength session

The groups will arranged based upon recent 10K times:

1. Keith's group, below 44 mins

2. Tony's group,  44 to 49 mins

3.  Andrew's group, 49 to 53 mins

4. Sally's group, 53 to 60 mins

5. Heather & Steve's group, all others

Keith's Group

Tuesday 1st July

Right on to Sywell Road, left at the end, follow this until you get to Sywell Airport, turn left onto Sywell Road, follow this until you get to crossroads then straight over onto Wilby Road, follow this and then turn left onto Wellingborough Road, continue until road splits then branch right onto Highfield Road, continue to T Junction, then turn right on Moonshine Gap, turn right back onto mad mile and back into OG’s

 

Thursday 3rd July

Time trials for the Wellingborough 5

 

Tuesday 8th July

Turn right out of OG’S along the mad mile, left at the end, left down Highfield Rd, follow along Wellingborough Rd until cross roads, right onto Wilby Rd to junction, right onto Mears Ashby Rd, left onto Washbrook Lane , round the lake and back the same way to OG’S

 

Thursday 10th July

Circuit training

 

Tuesday 15th July

Left out of OG’s along mad mile, right at the end, left at cross roads follow road all the way to A43, turn round and go back the same route

 

Thursday 17th July

Turn right out of OG’s, onto mad mile, turn right continue until you get to cross roads, left to Hardwick, 2 sets of 5 x 60 sec  hill reps with 1.30 min rest between each rep then back to OG’s with cool down on the way back

 

Tuesday 22nd July

Pyramids 2x100m 2x200m and 2x400m then back down to 2x200m 2x100m with a 60sec recovery then 2 laps cool down

 

Thursday 24th July

Turn left out of OG’S follow down to roundabout. Turn left at the roundabout. Follow this till you get to a cut threw, Follow this on to the Hardwick Road, turn left, Keep going until you get to a farm gate on you right, Turn into the farm and keep going until you get to Orlingbury Road, turn left and follow till you get to a roundabout, turn left onto moonshine gap follow this all the way back to Sywell Road and to OG’s

 

Tuesday 29th July

(2 sets of 3 reps) 800m running each rep in the same pace you would run a 10k

Tuesday 1st July

Through OGs field and path, left onto Hardwick Road to crossroads, straight over to Hardwick towards A43. 30 mins out, back faster.

 

Thursday 3rd July

Time trials for the Wellingborough 5.

 

Tuesday 8th July

Turn left out of main gate. At roundabout take right hand exit, then left onto path between factories and follow cycle path to Sainsburys. Turn right to Wilby, then right to Mears Ashby. Once in Mears Ashby, turn right and back to the OGs using the W’boro 5 route.

 

Thursday 10th July

Circuit training.

 

Tuesday 15th July

Through OGs field, path to Hardwick Road, across bridleway to Great Harrowden, cross road and take footpath across fields to Little Harrowden. By church, footpath to Orlingbury, across green, right then left onto footpath, across fields to Hardwick. Left to Hardwick Road to crossroads. Straight over and back to the OGs.

 

Thursday 17th July

Warm up: 4 laps gentle.

Fartlek session. Coaches to advise.

2 laps cool down.

 

Tuesday 22nd July

Through OGs field, bridleway to Great Harrowden, past golf club, turn left at bottom of the hill, along old railway line, left up track, over A509 and back along road through Little Harrowden, over roundabout, through bridleway at back of OGs. 

 

Thursday 24th July

TIMED WELLINGBOROUGH 5 RUN FOLLOWED BY BARBECUE.

Tuesday 29th July

Through OGs field, path to Hardwick Road. Turn left and run towards Hardwick, just past the crossroads, and before going down the hill, turn right into fields and follow to Little Harrowden, turn left at roundabout and run to Orlingbury, back across fields to Great Harrowden, back in along bridleway.

 

Thursday 31st July

Warm up: 4 laps gentle.

Pyramids: 2x100m, 2x200m, 2x400m, 2x200m, 2x100m, with 60 sec recovery between. 2 laps cool down.

TRAINING FOR JUNE – WORKING TOWARDS TARGET RACE ON 12th July – 4 Miles Tiffield Thunderbolt. Entry form on board, or next race section of this site if you wish to compete.
